- Material: cast iron, nodular iron or cast steel for maximum strength
- Process: sand casting or lost foam casting and precision machining
Compressor crossheads can be supplied with or without replaceable shoes or with shoes cast as an integral part of the crosshead. Integral shoes can be supplied with Babbitt or without. The replaceable shoes are made from bronze or cast iron with babbitt coating.
